It was an accident that cost the life of Radosław Grzegorz Ostałkiewicz, the Polish mayor who died after falling from the window of a hotel in the center of Cagliari in the night between Monday and Tuesday.

This was established by the autopsy performed by the coroner Francesco Locco , appointed by the prosecutor Ginevra Grilletti who coordinates the investigations.

Injuries compatible with the fall from the fourth floor of the Due Colonne hotel in via Sardegna were found on the body of the 44-year-old, and no other elements emerged. In any case , samples were taken for toxicological analyzes and the results will be available in two months.

Meanwhile, the Flying Squad listened to the mayors and Polish entrepreneurs who had arrived in Sardinia together with the victim, in order to reconstruct the last hours of his life.

The mayor and economist, well known in Poland, would have sat on the windowsill and lost his balance . The other mayor, who was in the room with him, was asleep and would not have noticed anything.

Radosław Grzegorz Ostałkiewicz had just reached the island with the Polish delegation to meet other institutional representatives and entrepreneurs. In particular, the appointment with the exponents of the Cagliari Centro Storico Consortium and with the Gal del Medio Campidano was scheduled. The president of the Cagliari Centro Storico Consortium, Gianluca Mureddu, in a note "joins the condolences of the family and of the entire Polish community for the loss of the mayor Radoslaw, a member of the Gal delegation and Polish operators on an institutional visit to Sardinia - we read -. Following the grave mourning, the Polish delegation has decided in any case to continue the institutional visit program in compliance with the appointments made and the scheduled meetings, obviously suspending all the festive folkloric appointments ».

Yesterday they were on an institutional visit with Gal Campidano in Barumini. Today they will be in Villasor and then in Cagliari.
