They asked for an official meeting, they got it after a tense morning: the email calling for a meeting for 19 April at 3.30 pm, in exactly one week's time, was delivered around 2.30 pm to the street vendors who this morning set up a roadblock in via Roma on the port side, causing traffic in the center of Cagliari to haywire.

About twenty had gathered under Palazzo Bacaredda. The objective: to meet the mayor Paolo Truzzu, to propose changes to the regulation on the concession of public land. The current one has led to the seizure of numerous businesses, the so-called "caddazzoni", due to irregularities that had been going on for up to two decades.

But there was no confrontation and they decided to unleash chaos: first they sat down in Piazza Matteotti, then in the Largo, to move to the busiest part of the wide street that runs along the docks. The blockade went on for hours, with moments of tension: a car that tried to pass without "authorization" was surrounded and beaten.

Then the opening by the Municipality: it is unlikely that the regulation can be changed. But there is an opening for dialogue.
