Cagliari, two cars burned on Via Tiepolo: danger posed by a burst gas pipe.

Two cars burned and a far worse scenario was averted only thanks to the intervention of firefighters last night on Via Tiepolo, in the Mulinu Becciu neighborhood of Cagliari.

Operators from the Viale Marconi command arrived around 3:50 a.m. to put out the flames that had engulfed a vehicle and spread to another parked nearby.

The heat, however, had also damaged a city gas main: firefighters put out the blaze and secured the damaged pipe.
