The Police arrested a 52-year-old man, with a criminal record, on charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking of narcotic substances.

As part of the checks against drug dealing, the Flying Squad investigators identified an apartment in the Sant'Elia district of Cagliari where every day there was a continuous coming and going of drug addicts. Last Tuesday they broke into the house.

Upon seeing the officers , the man rushed towards the kitchen sink trying to throw away a wrapper full of cocaine. However, the operators managed to block it and recover part of the substance, equal to approximately six grams. During the search they then found on the hob a precision scale with traces of cocaine, material for packaging the doses and 980 euros in cash.

The man was thus arrested, validated by the investigating judge: following the plea agreement he was sentenced to 8 months and a €600 fine (suspended sentence).
