Cagliari's light metro is getting ready to restart . Today, along the railway line, technical tests were carried out with double tracks and brand new trains : concrete signs of the resumption of a service that commuters have been waiting for almost two years.

The halt to the work to double the track on the Repubblica–Caracalla section alone has required a necessary reorganization of daily life for those who, for work or study, are forced to cross the city by car every day, with inevitable repercussions on travel times and traffic .

The checks carried out in the morning, mandatory for safety reasons, precede the reopening of the metro. However, there are still many unknowns and no official date on the “big day”. Citizens, therefore, will have to wait a little longer. One thing is certain: the carriages will soon return to circulate both on the existing route and on the new Repubblica–San Saturnino extension, just 300 meters long.
