A quiet evening, even quite hot, yesterday in the Cagliari area. Then suddenly the windows slam, the trees shake and the wind envelops the city and its hinterland. A sudden storm , lasting about half an hour, around midnight , but which does not surprise the experts too much.

"It's typical, in the presence of high humidity ," explains Carlo Spanu, Lieutenant Colonel of the Decimomannu Air Force Weather Service. «The storm event started in central Sardinia, to continue towards the south and reach Cagliari at midnight, continuing until 4 am».

The phenomenon is characterized by single events lasting 15-30 minutes. The capital, among other things, was not the most "affected" area. The peak, with heavy rains , was reached offshore (where, in the presence of the sea, the humidity is obviously higher), particularly in the south-eastern area, also at Villasimius .
