Countdown to Sardinia Pride 2026 , the event celebrating LGBT+ rights hosted in Cagliari until Sunday ( THE PROGRAM ).
The highlight of the event will be the grand parade on Saturday, June 27 , which will pass through the city center. Governor Alessandra Todde will not be present this year, "for institutional reasons."
She announced it herself in a Facebook post, sending a message to attendees: "Tomorrow I won't be able to attend the Cagliari Pride march; I'm away for institutional reasons. My love and support will be there, with you. In these days, after the death of Mirko , killed by his father because of his homosexuality, this square takes on an even greater weight. It's the weight of grief, of anger, but also of a question that a civil society should no longer postpone: how much loneliness are we still willing to leave around those who are rejected for who they are? For this reason, even though I'm far away, tomorrow I will be there with my heart, alongside those who will walk through Cagliari with pride and dignity."
"The Sardinia we want to build," Todde continues, " is a land where no one should fear their identity, their love, their freedom . Happy Pride, Cagliari."
