The Emergency Department of the Santissima Trinità hospital reopened this morning in Cagliari.

In the Is Mirrionis structure, the first phase of the works was completed, with the expansion of the waiting room, the reorganization of the paths and the improvement of the comfort of the beds of the Obi, Intensive brief observation.

The inauguration took place in the presence of the regional councilor for health, Mario Nieddu, and the extraordinary commissioner of Ats Sardegna Massimo Temussi with all the staff of the emergency room.

At the moment the emergency room will reopen only for access to Covid positive patients. "The works - declares the commissioner Nieddu - were carried out quickly, with a general improvement of the environments for the benefit of the comfort and usability of the spaces. The increase in infections and hospitalizations due to Covid, particularly in the area does not criticize, however it forces us to maintain the organizational structure of the principals that until now has allowed us to better manage the pandemic. Today the Holy Trinity emergency room reopens exclusively for Covid patients, but as soon as the epidemiological framework allows it we will be able to give the city a better service from every point of view ".

With regard to the current situation of infections on the island, the commissioner adds: "The peaks we are recording are not at the moment such as to require even more restrictive measures, as is happening in other regions. However, we continue to monitor the general framework with the utmost attention ".
