The waste problem is one of the most serious in modern society.
In Italy it is far from a resolution, as demonstrated by the travails of the waste-to-energy plant in Rome or the problem of landfills widespread throughout the territory, including Sardinia.

Added to this is the rudeness of the people. The "wild bag" phenomenon is rampant, despite the municipal administrations trying to deal with it with camera traps and increasingly severe fines.

The photo by Andrea Piras is emblematic: a black bag full of rubbish floats in the Santa Gilla lagoon, in the Sa Mura area, on the border between Elmas and Assemini. A serious form of pollution in a wetland of extraordinary environmental interest.
