Cagliari, the asphalt collapses in via Trentino. Road Closed

First the crack in the asphalt, then the collapse: a part of the road in via Trentino in Cagliari collapsed this morning just before 9.

Yesterday's rains or some broken pipes dug under the asphalt, taking everything away and creating a vacuum until it collapsed this morning.

The firefighters are on site: the area has been cordoned off and the area closed to traffic.

The Local Police and the Abbanoa teams are also in action, who will have to look for the cause of the water leak or infiltration .

The area under the now empty road is large enough, the intervention will not be short-lived . The subsidence occurred a few tens of meters from the entrance to the university campus and the student residence.
