Tension in the afternoon in Via Abruzzi, in Cagliari, where the presence of an 82-year-old man was reported, out of his mind, who had threatened to harm anyone who approached and himself, while holding a rifle.

Officers from the Police Headquarters' Flying Squad, with three cars, and 118 operators, ready for any eventuality, rushed to the scene.

The officers managed to calm the elderly man, who had already sustained a wound to his arm from a piece of glass. When they arrived, the weapon was in the apartment.

According to what has emerged, the man went into a rage because, afflicted by an incurable disease and desperate, he felt abandoned.
