A gold necklace torn off by force, savage beatings and a place devastated by blows from tables and chairs: this is the result of the night of violence that took place on Saturday 9 March in Cagliari, in the area of Piazza Sant'Eulalia, where a group of six very young people - all of them just over 18 or still minors - spread panic among passers-by and customers of a pub.

Three of them, aged between 18 and 19, were arrested by the Flying Squad: one ended up in prison, while the investigating judge ordered house arrest for the other two.

Three other minors have been reported to the Prosecutor's Office at the Juvenile Court. All have no criminal record, but the charges are serious: aggravated robbery, serious injuries, damage and complicity in assault.

According to the reconstruction by investigators, thanks to the images from the video surveillance cameras, the baby gang would have first attacked a boy to snatch his necklace. Not satisfied, they would have repeatedly hit him with kicks, punches, bottles and a telescopic truncheon, causing him to fracture an arm.

Shortly after, in via Barcellona, the gang allegedly attacked two young people outside a nightclub. Again, truncheon in hand, chairs and tables transformed into improvised weapons: two injured and the club devastated.

The investigations of the Flying Squad have revealed not only the different roles played by each member of the group, but also a high level of violence and social dangerousness. The precautionary custody orders were issued yesterday morning, following the elements collected.
