It happened this morning in Cagliari, on Viale Marconi, where Carabinieri officers from the Villanova station arrested a 27-year-old man from Nuoro, homeless, unemployed, and already known to law enforcement.

The young man, after taking several items from the shelves, attempted to leave without paying. When intercepted by the store's security guard, a 62-year-old man from Cagliari, the man allegedly reacted violently, pushing him and then grabbing a powder fire extinguisher, which he activated against the security guard.

The Carabinieri arrived on the scene just as the attacker was still discharging the fire extinguisher. They managed to subdue him and secure him, preventing further damage and danger to other customers.
