The State Police of Cagliari arrested a 38-year-old man on suspicion of possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.

The investigation was triggered by an unusual circumstance : it all started in the parking lot of a well-known city supermarket, where a passerby reported to the police the presence of a suspicious package, which later turned out to contain 1.5 kg of marijuana . Thanks to video surveillance images and further investigations, the officers were then able to trace the identity of the man who, in all likelihood, had “lost” the package of drugs during a previous drug dealing activity.

The Flying Squad investigators then activated a monitoring activity that allowed them to locate the suspect at his home. Then a house search was launched, during which additional quantities of narcotics, packaging material and other elements considered useful for the investigative activity were found.

The man, unknown to the police, was arrested in flagrante delicto and taken to the police station. After the validation hearing, the defense attorney requested the terms of defense and the young man was released.
