The concession had expired after the ruling of the Council of State. This morning, at dawn, the agents of the administrative police unit and the emergency response unit of the Local Police of Cagliari, coordinated by Major Gesuina Olmetto, executed the expiration order, seizing the Luchia kiosk in viale Buoncammino in Cagliari.
The business was open and the police allowed the staff to collect food, drinks and other equipment before sealing the structure, which was closed forever at the end of an administrative legal case. Fines of 5,000 euros were imposed for carrying out the business of catering without a permit and illegal occupation of public land.
The history of Luchia, managed by Claudio Ara and a point of reference for many frequenters of Cagliari nights, has been very troubled after the complaints for loud music and for a series of violations of the highway code, the noise regulations and for the arrears in paying the fee for occupation of land. In June the Municipality had ordered the forfeiture of the concession of public land. The concessionaire had filed an appeal with the TAR Sardinia, which had ruled in favor of the Municipality.
Then another appeal was filed with the Council of State with an initial order to suspend the measure, until the ruling that rejected the appeal, once again giving reason to the municipal administration.
On social media, there were numerous messages of closeness to the owner and of regret for the closure of a historic Cagliari venue.
