Anyone guilty of any crimes must be "prosecuted". It is one of the requests that appear in the letter that the mayor of Cagliari sent, together with the leader of the Democratic Party, Fabrizio Marcello, to the Minister of the Interior Luciana Lamorgese with reference to the "unfortunate episodes" that occurred during the Cagliari-Naples match of 21 February last. That day a large group of fans from Campania "refused to get on the buses, which would have accompanied them safely to the stadium, and instead crossed the city on foot for a good 7 km shouting offensive slogans against Cagliari and its inhabitants" . "Only the intelligence and common sense of the citizens of Cagliari prevented the transformation of a football match into an occasion of infamous violence - writes the mayor - It remains inexplicable for us that they were 'accompanied' on foot to the stadium, blocking traffic, traveling along busy and very busy streets, running the very high risk of coming into contact with local fans. A small spark would have been enough to unleash an urban warfare with unpredictable outcomes, as has already happened in the past in many Italian cities ”.
Truzzu therefore asks not only that "all those who have been guilty of any crimes" be prosecuted, but also to strengthen the personnel of the police forces in the city by using the military in the garrison of the territory "in order to guarantee high levels of security. of all citizens ".

We receive from the Siulp police union and publish:
"We have read the press statements of the municipal councilors and the mayor of Cagliari. We were dismayed at the statements on the Cagliari-Naples match last week. The indignation arises on the incorrect interpretation of the public order service by the forces of the First of all we ask ourselves what skills these politicians have since none of them have ever worked in the police forces. We too are indignant about the chants, but we do not give ourselves more importance since all public order services are characterized by insults and even personal insults. What is intolerable for us is to use these chants to attack the police. It is not thinkable that for electoral issues the police are accused of not having done their job q hen the procession was certainly not characterized by unrest. Only after the end of the match did the Cagliari fans create riots promptly managed by the State Police. This is what happened. The rest are political exploitations that the SIULP will fight with every force ".
