Two women were hit by a car this morning while they were walking on the sidewalk in via Santa Maria Chiara in Pirri. The accident occurred at street number 72. The injured were transported under code red to Brotzu and the Polyclinic.

According to an initial reconstruction, two cars collided and one of the cars, due to the impact, ended up on the pavement, overwhelming a young and an elderly woman. The motorists immediately stopped to help the two injured people. Two 118 ambulances and local police officers then arrived on site.

The women, one 65 years old and the other 27, are not in danger of their lives. The officers are working to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the accident.
