Twenty-six healthcare workers previously excluded from permanent employment have been hired in Cagliari. After months of waiting, hopes, and protests, permanent contracts have finally been signed. Their protests had been ongoing: the temporary workers had even taken up camp outside the Regional Council.

" We had to protest, " explains Gianfranco Angioni, regional representative of USB Sanità and spokesperson for the committee, "even to the point of going on a hunger strike to assert our rights. Finally, the future of these professionals and the dignity of all healthcare workers are guaranteed." Today, we celebrate, as stated in a statement, not only the hiring of these professionals, but a victory for all workers who, like the 26 healthcare workers, fought for the recognition of their rights.

This experience should serve as a warning for future interventions and decisions, ensuring that no worker feels excluded or forgotten. "Thanks to their dedication, they will be able to provide care to the sick, a crucial aspect for the proper functioning of public healthcare," said the union representative.
