Everything is ready at the Botanical Garden of Cagliari for the "Calvinian Autumn" initiative: two months of music, shows and literary events to celebrate the centenary of Italo Calvino's birth. The first initiative included in the billboard is "Calvino 100 - Walking along the edge of the mountains".
«This is a program of initiatives that makes the cultural role of the Botanical Garden of the University of Cagliari even more evident – comments the director Annalena Cogoni – as a place that willingly hosts numerous events around the figure of Italo Calvino, son of that Eva Mameli Calvino who was director of the Garden. The Garden thus also reveals itself as an ideal place to contaminate the various artistic forms around the figure of the great Italian writer, encouraging an interaction of great interest".
Proposed by the Cirko Vertigo Foundation and by CEDAC with the 6tu Collective, the show scheduled for Sunday 17 September from 5.45 pm recalls the main visions of the world that emerge from Calvino's writings. The program of initiatives - organized by Gianluca IIriti, technical coordinator of the Garden - proposes to follow on Tuesday 26 September at 5pm, again with free admission, a reading of readings taken from the works of Italo Calvino interpreted by the students of the expressive reading laboratory promoted by the ArCoEs Association directed by Fausto Siddi.
Thursday 28 September at 8pm will be the turn of "Le città invisibili", a reading-concert by the Ente concert città di Iglesias of the text by Italo Calvino with Chiara Vittone on the harp and the voices of Gilberto Ganassi and Mostafa Ghorato lhamid. On Saturday 14 October at 2.30pm and 15th at 10am, organized by the Teatro del Sale of Cagliari, Marco Nateri and Aurora Simeone will propose a free show for families entitled "Good news - homage to Eva Mameli Calvino".

On Sunday 15 October at 4pm it is the turn of the Teatro del Sale in Cagliari which offers, with free entry, "The distance of the moon from Italo Calvino's Cosmicomics" with readings by Marta Proietti Orzella and soundtracks by Alessandro Melis. On Sunday 22 October at 11am, the Ente Concerti Città di Iglesias will host “A life on trees”, a musical reading taken from “The Baron in the Trees” by Calvino with the narrating voice of Gerardo Ferrara and Raoul Moretti on the electric harp with live electronics.

“Eva's Tree” will be staged on Saturday 28 October at 5pm and in repeat at 6pm, a show that can count on the artistic direction of Norma Gomez, with the singer and actress Rossella Faa, the dramaturgical collaboration of Alessandro Congedu and the choreography of Uwe Endler. Curated by ASD Tres Tiempos, it will feature Norma Gomez, Uwe Endler, Felicia and Venturino Vargiu, Enrique Quintana, Giuseppe Abis and Antonio Soddu Pirellas. Closing the rich calendar is the round table "...the geographical instability that continually makes me desire elsewhere" (Italo Calvino) Eva Mameli Calvino and the Botanical Garden of the University of Cagliari" organized by the Hortus Botanicus Karalitanus Service Center – University of Cagliari. The appointment is for Thursday 9 November at 5pm.
