The Cagliari mobile squad denounced a 40-year-old for scam : the scam took place in a supermarket in the capital. The man introduced himself to the 80-year-old as the owner of a fish shop in difficulty, his friend, and convinced him to buy several kilos of fresh prawns for 100 euros .

Once the money was handed over, the goods would be picked up outside the supermarket. But outside, no trace of the fake merchant. At that point , the 80-year-old realized he had been scammed and called 113 .

The men of the crimes against the assets section of Mobile managed to identify the scammer thanks to the images of the supermarket surveillance video and the description provided by the victim.

The man, already known to the police for similar crimes, is suspected of being responsible for other similar cases.
