Cagliari, truck crashes on the tables of the premises among the customers: 15 injured
The vehicle was probably left without the handbrake onA near tragedy shortly after 2.30 pm in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, in the center of Cagliari.
A lorry overwhelmed customers and tables in some premises in the pedestrian area, which were very crowded at the time. Fifteen were injured: seven were taken to hospital, the others refused treatment due to the lightness of the bruises.
According to what has been learned, the (rented) vehicle used by a company at work in a building in the area had been parked for many minutes on the zebra-striped area in the center of Piazza Yenne. Perhaps the handbrake was set incorrectly. And anyway there was no gear engaged.
The vehicle began its march, with no one on board, and passed through the concessions of the Ex Tipografia, Corso 12, the Cavò Bistrot and Gigino's, to end its race against a wall.
Traffic police and carabinieri were also on site.
