Plastic and cigarettes banned from the Poetto beach in Cagliari .

Also this year the mayor Paolo Truzzu has in fact signed the anti-pollution ordinances in force for all the beaches of the capital, valid until next October 31st .

For offenders, penalties ranging from 25 to 500 euros are envisaged.

CIGARETTES - In detail, the abandonment of cigarette butts or waste produced by smoking on the beach entails the application of a pecuniary sanction from € 100 to € 500.

ZERO PLASTIC - As regards plastic, the use of non-compostable and non-biodegradable disposable products will be prohibited.

Therefore banned containers, stirrers for drinks, straws and dishes (cutlery, forks, knives, spoons, chopsticks and plates).

"The purpose - explains the Municipality - is to reduce the production of waste during the summer season, reduce the use of non-renewable raw materials deriving from oil, safeguard the marine and coastal ecosystem, improve the quality of the beaches and reduce costs for the removal and disposal of disposable plastics abandoned or deposited on municipal beaches ".

DOGS - Summer arrangements are also made for dogs and their companions. Indications: equip yourself with special bottles, sprayers or other containers of water to be poured if necessary, without adding chemicals or detergents, to pour a suitable quantity of water in correspondence with the point affected by the liquid manure. It is absolutely forbidden to allow dogs to urinate near the entrance doors and the entrances to homes and shops, shop windows. For non-compliant parties, a pecuniary sanction from 100 to 500 euros is established.
