A seagull digs in the congealed mud: it scratches in search of food among the construction site pipes. A flock of pigeons goes over the fence to peck at some bread crumbs that the wind must have blown inside. No one in Cagliari would have dared to believe it, but the construction site of the subway in piazza Repubblica and via Dante (for the construction of line 3 from Repubblica to piazza Matteotti) which has been driving Cagliari citizens crazy since January, continues to be blocked and deserted. For a month now. And now it risks being stuck for who knows how long.

The mess

The Integra consortium (the contractor) and the contracting company, the CMSA, discuss the money (5.4 million) that the Region owes to Arst (which is the contracting authority) for the higher costs linked to materials: resources already allocated with a resolution, they assure, but still stuck in some office of Villa Devoto for bureaucratic reasons. So don't get to the transport company which has convened a meeting for Friday 12 May with the representatives of the consortium, those of the company carrying out the work, and the Municipality to understand how to move forward. «We'll see if there is the "space" to continue with the same enterprise and immediately reactivate the construction site», explains the general manager of Arst Carlo Poledrini. "Otherwise, let's put plan B in motion", i.e. cancellation of the works, termination of the contract and new assignment to another company (with time lengthening, of course).
