Cagliari: Arson attack in front of the mosque on Via del Collegio

Fire in front of the mosque on Via del Collegio in Cagliari.

Carabinieri from the Cagliari Stampace station arrived on site to conduct initial investigations: according to initial investigations, the fire was apparently started by unknown assailants who may have used flammable liquid.

The flames engulfed some plastic flowerpots along the street, then spread and blackened the entrances of the houses near the Muslim community's place of worship.

The residents' intervention was crucial, managing to extinguish the flames before the firefighters arrived, thus avoiding even more serious damage.
