Redone horizontal signs and deterrent posts, waiting for traffic lights and raised pedestrian crossings to arrive.

The Municipality of Cagliari is trying to curb accidents on the "cursed streets" and respond to residents' appeals.

Nine days ago the crash between via Corsica and via Curie : «A very dangerous intersection, taking into account the fact that children go to school here», explains a resident.

Three days later, a 42-year-old was hit in the infamous Via Perett i, which is back in the news after the 16-year-old was hit and killed in January. Luckily the woman came out of the coma, but the issue of safety for pedestrians remains: « Every time I have to cross here I fear someone will throw me into the air. And they don't take action, this worries me a lot ," says a resident.

The measures are now arriving. Safety works have begun in via Peretti: the raised pedestrian crossings on one side will make pedestrians, often hidden by flowerbeds, more visible, and on the other they will push cars to travel at a slower speed .

In Via Corsica , 20 bollards have been positioned and the signs have been redesigned. A temporary solution while waiting for the traffic lights to arrive .
