Traffic in the city center is changing again due to the completion of the metro work on the section connecting Piazza Repubblica to the station in Piazza Matteotti.

The Municipality of Cagliari announced this through executive order no. 2612/2025.

The traffic changes will come into effect tomorrow, Tuesday, October 21, and will remain in effect until January 17, 2026.

The works will particularly affect Viale Bonaria and Viale Diaz, with a series of restrictions and diversions that will affect private traffic and public transport .

On Viale Bonaria, between Viale Cimitero and Via Sonnino, the lane reserved for local public transport and taxis will be removed and two-way traffic will be introduced.

At the intersection of Viale Bonaria and Via Sonnino, a mandatory left turn will be activated, regulated by traffic lights, with exemptions for buses and taxis.

Traffic will be closed on Viale Diaz, between Viale Cimitero and the Intesa San Paolo building, in the direction of Via Roma.

Also on Viale Diaz, at the intersection with Viale Cimitero , you will be required to turn right, while at the intersection with Via Sonnino you will be required to continue straight. Both maneuvers will be regulated by traffic lights.

The municipal administration has assured that appropriate signage will be installed to indicate alternative routes and facilitate traffic during the work period.
