A new garden was inaugurated this morning in Cagliari . Where previously there was a dirt road - in via Asti , in the Bonaria district - there is now a children's play area , a space for dogs , a fitness area and benches . Over a thousand square meters refurbished including lawn, trees and shrubs. The project was financed with PON Metro React-EU funds.
For the mayor Paolo Truzzu it is an oasis of tranquility in the center of the city: «The administration therefore continues the policy of increasing and redeveloping the green areas of the neighborhood to deliver to the citizens an increasingly green and citizen-friendly Cagliari. The works in via Asti are in the wake of previous interventions in other areas of the city: via Is Guadazzonis, via Vesalio, via Eroi d'Italia, via Giotto, to name a few."
Also present was the deputy mayor Giorgio Angius , councilor for public greenery : «The area of via Asti of approximately 1,150 square meters, previously devoid of trees and shrubs, has seen the planting of palm and jacaranda specimens along the perimeter, combined with shrubs of the Mediterranean scrub. A lawn has also been laid around the play area. The new greenery is served by an irrigation system equipped with sensors that measure the degree of humidity in the soil, make the watering programmable remotely and detect any leaks. The floors are made of drained material. The lighting system is equipped with low consumption LED lamps."
