An unbearable stench. And cockroaches. Elements that made us fear the worst had happened inside that apartment in via Sulis, in the Villanova district, in Cagliari . This is why the neighbors called the municipal police. Upon the arrival of the agents this afternoon, a situation of serious degradation was discovered.

Knocking and trying to contact the person who lived in the building, APG, 71, on his cell phone, has long been futile. Only after numerous attempts was the door opened.

The scene that presented itself was disturbing: inside there were accumulations of materials that prevented access. With great difficulty, an inspection of the building was carried out: in every room there was a landfill.

Technicians from the ASL and firefighters were called, who declared the building unusable: the minimum hygienic-sanitary requirements were lacking and the enormous quantity of materials amassed constituted a danger.

The person who lived there was immediately entrusted to the Social Services of the country of residence, in the hinterland. The property can only be used again when the minimum safety conditions are restored.
