Cagliari: A dangerous pine tree has been removed, and Via Giussani has reopened to traffic.

Workers began working at 8:30 a.m. to remove the dangerous pine tree— which will then be replaced with a new one—and, once the work was completed , Via Giussani in Cagliari was reopened to traffic.

The closure of the road, since last Saturday , had created enormous problems and inconvenience to traffic in the Buoncammino area , with interminable queues in Viale San Vincenzo and Viale Merello .

The Municipality intervened as soon as it received approval from the superintendent to remove the pine tree, which was in danger of falling after the violent gusts of wind that hit Cagliari between Friday and Saturday . Thus, in the early afternoon, the barriers on the slope of Viale Buoncammino disappeared, with the reopening of Via Giussani, bringing to an end a difficult few days of traffic in the city.
