First snow in Sardinia, Bruncu Spina turns white
The first flakes above 1570 meters, temperatures dropping across the island

On October 30th a large fire had developed on one of its slopes, today Bruncu Spina , one of the highest peaks of Gennargentu, was veiled in white.
The first snow of the season, which fell above 1,570 metres, coincides with the surge of cold Arctic air that reached Italy from the north-eastern quadrants and caused temperatures to drop on the island as well.
According to data from the network of stations of the Regional Agency for the Protection of the Environment of Sardinia (ARPAS), last night on the slopes of the Gennargentu, in Desulo, the minimum was 0.6 degrees and in Fonni 1.7 degrees , with readings below the seasonal average in several towns in the interior of the region, in the Nuoro and Sassari areas, and peaks of -8 degrees compared to the average for the period.
According to Sardegna Clima Aps, the temperature is currently 0 degrees Celsius on Bruncu Spina.
