A syringe stuck in his arm, foaming at the mouth. The symptoms of an overdose that the Cagliari carabinieri noticed as they approached the motionless body which was on the pavement of via La Nurra were clear.

The military called a medical ambulance to the scene, and it was ascertained that the man, a 39-year-old from Cagliari with a long history of drug addiction, had died due to an overdose, probably of heroin.

The discovery was made around midnight.
