The Guardia di Finanza of Cagliari has seized 700 kilos of dangerous fireworks, intended for the celebrations for the end of the year.

It is the second seizure of irregular barrels made in the last month.

«On this occasion too - explains a note from the Fiamme Gialle - the activity was made possible thanks to the constant and targeted preventive services on the flows of goods in transit from the port and airport of the metropolitan city of Cagliari, carried out daily by the soldiers of the Guardia di Finanza".

The discovery of the last load took place at the port, during investigations on a shipment coming from the province of Naples.

The fires in question (with a net quantity of gunpowder equal to approximately 61 kg) were category F2 and were packaged and transported «in violation of the most basic safety regulations.

«The large quantity of fireworks found – the investigators continue – could have represented a real danger for the safety of things and people».

The precarious transport conditions, in fact, could have led to sudden explosions, with all the associated risks.

The checks by the Guardia di Finanza will continue indefinitely, for the entire duration of the holidays.
