Dozens of people riding their bikes to ask for work to be restarted on the cycle / pedestrian path that leads from Cabras to Torregrande and the Sinis coast .

The pedal protest was staged along the provincial road 6 . The demonstrators ask that the project (worth 4 million euros ), currently stalled, be restarted, after the construction of the roundabout between the provincial roads SP1 - SP6 and SP94.

The protest was also attended by some mayors of the municipalities in the area .

"Today a moment of civilization was expressed, that of those who are asking for an absolutely necessary work, in terms of safety and prospects aimed at tourism in close connection with environmental protection - said Andrea Abis, Mayor of Cabras - Yes it is a highly dangerous road and it is not acceptable that, having already a project and a budget aimed at completing the cycle / pedestrian path, the construction work cannot be carried out. allows us to proceed, resolving this uncivilized situation ".

The unexpected stop to the construction of the cycle / pedestrian axis had arrived in January, with a motivation linked to the landscape protection of the places , which would not be respected. Mayor Abis and his administration, on the other hand, are convinced of the opposite "as the project does not envisage the formation of roads or tracks in virgin areas but the flanking of existing provincial roads".
