More than ten bags full of waste and many benches shiny and clean again, without any writing. The hand of the town's young people left its mark across Piazza Stagno this morning. The ecological day organized by the Youth Council of Cabras in collaboration with the municipal administration was successfully held.

The young people, armed with bags and gloves, first collected the waste present near the square, and then dedicated themselves to cleaning the street furniture, benches and planters which, starting today and over the next few weeks, will also be painted. «For us it is an important day, because after the photographic exhibition organized on the occasion of the Bottarga Festival, this is our second event, which has great significance because it involves us as a group - stated Michela Serra, vice-president of the Youth Consultation - The square In addition to being a cornerstone of the town, Stagno is also the main venue for our upcoming events. Today we started with the cleaning and waste collection, we will proceed with the painting of all the street furniture present in the square and we will contribute to the redevelopment work already underway with the care of the flowerbeds and the repositioning of the waste bins".

«We warmly welcomed the kids' proposal - said city councilor Paola Deiala, who coordinated the kids for this initiative - They are proactive and determined young people who managed to involve various age groups, including families. We support their projects because we believe in the value of civic commitment on the part of the new generations." Carlo Carta, Councilor for Environment and Urban Decor, was also satisfied: «This is a project proposed by young people, therefore it takes on an even broader value, which overcomes the stigma according to which young people have no respect for the public good. They will be an example for many, our intent is to take care of public assets and enhance young people."

The ecological days will have a calendar that will be communicated to all citizens, so that many can participate and contribute to the maintenance of urban decorum.
