Budoni responds to the onslaught of August with slow tourism and gentle mobility. The "Outdoor development" project of the coastal Municipality is divided into dozens of itineraries that can be traveled by bicycle, to discover the less crowded beaches and the most characteristic villages, in a tour that combines nature and culture.

For cyclists who want to reach the sea through the coastal pine forests , digital maps of the itineraries and 100 stalls with new generation racks are available. There are two new itineraries that can be traveled, even with e-bikes, which wind for over 40 kilometers up to the ancient villages of the town, far from traffic and crowding. Bicycles can be parked in the 100 new stalls scattered along the coast at the entrance to the beaches, thanks to easily identifiable racks with newly installed signs and the digital presence on local maps.

The initiative also winks at those who prefer to get around on foot, with 3 trekking paths that touch both the coast and the internal territories . All in total safety thanks to the mapping of the paths on Komoot, one of the most authoritative outdoor platforms in the world, and the presence of a rich billboard with QR codes that indicate the position, the road traveled and the stretch of road in real time remaining. Along the entire route there are refreshment points offering excellent local products.

Experiential tourism has now become Budoni's calling card, which once again this year can boast the Five Sails of Legambiente and which for some time now has been focusing on sustainability, on the rediscovery of tradition in a modern key and on the enhancement of the priceless natural heritage. The quality of the services activated in recent years is also certified by the Blue Flag , while accessibility for people with disabilities is guaranteed by the Lilla Flag. All acknowledgments that demonstrate how much the Administration has decidedly accelerated the discovery of the area, leading to an even more marked development of the facilities available to tourists and residents who love life in the open air.

It is from this point of view that the "Sviluppo Outodoor" project dedicated to soft mobility and slow tourism was born. «The development of routes for lovers of two wheels or long walks», explains Alessandro Fiore, Destination manager of Budoni Welcome, «makes us particularly proud. Not only because we offer a new service to tourists and residents that has no equal in Sardinia, but also because we are able to accompany those who wish to discover the area, distributing our guests to all the beaches and different areas of our destination . To the benefit of the community, which also sees car traffic and air pollution streamlined. Not only that: these routes», continues Fiore, «are also designed for cycle tourists who prefer seasons of the year other than summer, when our territory reveals its deepest nature, rich in history, colors and scents».
