Plastic and glass bottles, bags, cloths, empty detergent containers, syringe packs.

Everything ends up in the trawl nets of Sardinian fishermen, even tires and tin boxes .

Of particular concern are plastics destined to flake, which end up in the food chain .

The Universities of Cagliari and Marche last year published research that raised the alarm on the microplastics present in purple shrimp and scampi , fish that are often the target of trawling.
