Abbanoa invests more than two and a half million euros for new redevelopment interventions on the water networks in the town of Bosa.

Two important contracts were awarded at the end of last year which are part of the total package of 27 million euros, approved by the Board of Directors led by President Franco Piga, destined for various centers on the island for the efficiency of water networks: they are resources obtained through the European Fund for Development and Cohesion "FSC".

The works - Bosa's interventions are among the most important. Old municipal water networks are characterized by significant leaks. The main causes can be traced back to the use in the past of materials that were not adequately resistant to the stresses that pipes have to face on a daily basis. The old nets will therefore be eliminated and replaced by new ones made of nodular cast iron: a material that guarantees the best seal. Furthermore, all the connections to the users served will also be redone. Overall, almost two kilometers of pipelines will be rebuilt which will cover piazza Episcopio, piazza Duomo, piazza Gioberti and via Serravalle, Montenegro, Sant'Ignazio, del Carmine, Ginnasio, Azuni, Manin and Santa Giusta (including the alley of the same name).

Network engineering - Bosa is also among the top thirty Municipalities in Sardinia where the "Intelligent Networks" project is being carried out, which aims to drastically reduce losses. The efficiency of the water system is based on a study aimed at allowing the districtisation of the networks through the use of technologically advanced systems in the control of the correct functioning of the service with the aim of making it more efficient. The interventions to be carried out both through ordinary maintenance work and through specific investment channels are also defined, such as the two relating to the contracts just awarded for Bosa.
