A sailboat, flying the Italian flag and for hire, was rescued in the Gulf of Oristano by the Coast Guard.

Yesterday afternoon the operations room of the Captaincy received a request for intervention from the boat on which 10 people were. The report concerned in particular an engine failure and, due to the absence of wind in the area, it was not possible to continue the manoeuvres.

The CP 893 patrol boat, a unit specialized in search and rescue operations, was sent to the scene. In the meantime, the occupants were asked to wear life jackets and the crew of the patrol boat provided assistance to the people, including 4 minors, by transferring them to the Coast Guard unit for the subsequent transfer in complete safety to the industrial port of Oristano .

Their health conditions, despite the great fright, were good, so the intervention of medical personnel was not necessary.

The boat was moored thanks to the intervention of a specialized firm for assistance to pleasure boats.
