Four cages illegally placed in the countryside , filled with almonds and food, to attract wild boars and trap them. Once captured, the animals were released into an area for training the dogs, which became the scene of paid clandestine hunting trips.

The discovery was made by the men of the Pula Forestry Corps in the Is Canargius area, in Villa San Pietro, near the Gutturu Mannu Regional Park .

After discovering the cages, the Foresters also searched the sheepfold of the owner of the training area - a 70-year-old man already known to the police - finding snares for catching deer and wild boars and illegally held ammunition.

Proceedings were then taken, with the man being charged with illegal catching of game with illegal systems, possession of illegal catching systems and illegal possession of ammunition.

Not only that: the Forest Service has also ascertained violations of the rules against African swine fever.
