Stones and smoke bombs were thrown at the Ctm buses carrying Palermo fans towards the Unipol Domus.

There is more than one video documenting the consequences of the assault by the Cagliari ultras carried out before the stadium filled up for the match. One shot, in particular, captures the moments of the assault.

The vehicles with the Rosanero fans are escorted by numerous police officers. The passage in viale Ferrara is the most delicate moment. The Sardinian ultras were hidden on the side of the Sant'Elia buildings.

As the convoy passed, they lit the smoke bombs and crossed the first carriageway. And the throwing of objects started. The unmistakable sound of breaking glass.

The buses only stopped for a few excited seconds , and then resumed their march towards the away sector, which is located between the Distinti and the Curva Sud.

Here, once they got off, the Sicilians tried to go back to face their opponents, but were forcibly stopped by the police. Meanwhile, the smoke bombs thrown among the scrub started a fire, which went out thanks to a providential downpour.

At the end of the match, the Sicilian fans were again escorted to the port and airport.
