Fifty kilos of expired meat were seized in Oristano in a Nas blitz in a cooking center authorized to prepare and distribute meals in hospital canteens.

The military checks focused on compliance with the hygienic-sanitary and structural requirements of the meal preparation rooms, on the correctness in the management and storage of food and food safety procedures, also in relation to their traceability and to the aspects connected to labeling. And again on the legitimacy of entrusting the service to the supplying company and the relative correspondence of the menus to the type of food administered; on the regular employment position of the workers and on compliance with the containment measures to the spread of the pandemic from Covid-19.

The control activity, which involved many other locations in central Italy, involved over 300 soldiers from 12 anti-sophistication and health units and inspected 119 hospital canteens.

Overall, the military found sanitation and structural deficiencies in 43 sites, disputing 18 administrative penalties for a total amount of over 18 thousand euros.
