At the medical guard, no doctor. It was about a year ago that, after reports from several patients taken as early as September 2022, the Carabinieri had started keeping an eye on a doctor in Alà dei Sardi.

Even though he didn't set foot in the clinic, he still declared his presence to the local health authority and was regularly paid for this.

The man, it emerged from the investigations of the Carabinieri of Alà dei Sardi and the soldiers of the Ozieri Operations Unit conducted with stakeouts, checks and cross-checks, had falsely attested several times to his presence on duty at the ASL Gallura in Olbia (the soldiers had confirmed over thirty days of absence in the medical guard in Alà dei Sardi): the management of ARES Sardinia for that alleged job had provided him with 456 hours of service - never carried out - for an amount of almost 11,500 euros.

The 54-year-old was reported for the crimes of aggravated and continuous fraud against the State, repeated ideological falsehood committed by a private individual in a public act, omission in official documents and the continued interruption of a public service.

The investigating judge of the Turritano Court then issued the personal precautionary measure prohibiting him from practicing the medical profession for 12 months. The provision has already been delivered directly into the hands of the interested party by the Commander of the Ozieri Carabinieri Company Major Gabriele Tronca who, in effect, suspended him from practicing the medical-health profession.
