Just hours after the announcement by Barbara Porru, now former president of CACIP, the Assembly of the Provincial Industrial Consortium of Cagliari elected Beniamino Garau, mayor of Capoterra, to lead the organization. Garau succeeds Porru, who communicated his decision in a letter sent to the Board of Directors, the Regional President, and the Department of Industry, effectively preempting the motion of no confidence filed by three mayors who are members of the Board of Directors.

" I accept this vote of confidence with great emotion and a profound sense of responsibility ," stated the new president. "I don't consider this appointment a personal achievement, but rather a recognition that belongs to the entire city of Capoterra ." Garau emphasized that, for the first time, the Municipality is called upon to lead a strategic entity for the economic development of the area. He also thanked Barbara Porru "for her work and dedication over the years."

For Garau, the priorities are now clear: relaunching the Consortium, strengthening dialogue with municipalities, consortium members, and the business community, encouraging discussion and shared decisions. " From today, there are no political affiliations or divisions: there is a single goal: working together for the future of Cacip ," he stated. "A new journey begins," Garau concluded. "I will face it with humility, determination, and full commitment, serving the local area and all those who believe in and invest in Cacip every day."
