West Nile fever arrives in San Gavino: a positive case discovered after death

An elderly woman from San Gavino who died in the last few hours has tested positive for West Nile virus.

The Medio Campidano Local Health Authority (ASL) has confirmed the infection, but a direct link to the death cannot be established at this time. The patient may have also had other medical conditions.
