Badu 'e Carros, the agents protest: "We as slaves, nothing has changed after Raduano's escape"

Continuous attacks, shortage of staff and absence of security principals.

In the prison of Badu 'e Carros, scene of the sensational escape of the boss Marco Raduano , there is a security emergency and the prison officers are protesting .

«This morning a mobilization process begins which in the absence of answers will continue to the bitter end - announces Giovanni Villa of the Fns Cisl in front of the prison with colleagues from Sappe, Sinappe, Osapp, Uspp, Fp Cgil and Uilpa - The situation in the institute has progressively worsened : the lack of staff is equal to 59 units, the staff is forced to work endless shifts and cannot take advantage of the ordinary leave arrears . The security conditions of the agents are extremely precarious with frequent episodes of aggression and they find themselves exposed to responsibilities which they are unable to fulfill . On the part of the prison administration, we record distance and indifference, creating the conditions for an escalation that could degenerate".

Yesterday the unions connected by videoconference with the undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice Francesco Paolo Sisto while today a delegation of prison officers was received by the prefect Giancarlo Dionisi.

«I have 175 days of overdue holidays and yesterday they blocked them - denounces Giovanni Conteddu of Osapp - We live in a situation of slavery at work and nothing has changed since Raduano escaped : no service post has been restored, no more security". "The situation is dramatic, in addition to the lack of personnel, we are unguarded in terms of controls: this prison has only one sentry box for more than a kilometer of boundary wall and is the only armed garrison of the institute - observes Luciano Porcu of the CGIL - The garrison for the control of the cameras that can observe the inside and the outside of the prison, it is still without personnel as on the day of Raduano's escape".

«Until 15 years ago - recalls Franco Spina of Osapp - there were 246 agents, today we are 100 fewer and almost all over fifty, out of 300 prisoners to be monitored, of which 265 from high security and six from 41 bis. The situation is dramatic and this time we will not accept the silences of the administration and the ministry : we are ready to go on strike to the bitter end".
