An entrepreneur from Northern Italy was acquitted in Tempio of the charge of manslaughter for the events that occurred in Badesi on the morning of July 22, 2022.

The man was accused of driving his Audi Q5 SUV into a parking lot on Li Junchi beach, killing a pensioner from Novara, Fernanda Leonardi.

The woman was placing the umbrella in the trunk of her car when the SUV veered out of control into the rest area.

A tourist from Cagliari, who also ended up in the trajectory of the Audi, was saved because she was protected by other cars.

The prosecutor Mauro Lavra had asked for the conviction of the driver, but the preliminary hearing judge of Tempio accepted the defense's thesis.

The entrepreneur has always maintained that he lost control of his Audi due to an instantaneous syncope, a brief loss of consciousness which, however, according to the Tempio Prosecutor's Office, could not exclude the driver's responsibility.
