The bad weather that has hit Sardinia in recent days with temperatures below zero and heavy snowfalls offers only a brief respite .

Precipitations , at high altitudes including snow, are already expected from tomorrow evening , Tuesday 24 January, as confirmed by the Decimomannu Air Force Weather Office.

The island , therefore, will remain in the grip of frost at least until next Thursday. And the strong mistral wind is also expected over the weekend , with possible storm surges on the western coasts.

Meanwhile, the polar temperatures continue. According to data provided by Arpas, the record temperature of minus 10.1 degrees was recorded in the Illorai station, a village in the Goceano area at an altitude of 500 metres, and still -9.9° in Villanova Strisaili , -6° in Giave , -5° in Ozieri .

THE FORECAST – «The weather conditions will remain unstable in Sardinia at least until Thursday 26 - explained by the Air Force Weather Office - when the Atlantic anticyclone will bring about a decisive improvement throughout the Mediterranean , with a consequent rise in temperatures. From Tuesday the sky will again be generally cloudy with isolated precipitations , even downpours or thunderstorms and snowfalls above 1000 meters in the night between Tuesday and Wednesday.
