The bad weather emergency in Sardinia continues unabated, and in the operations room of the Regional Civil Protection the situation continues to be monitored, with the alert remaining high throughout the island until 11.59 pm on Tuesday 16 December.

In the last 24 hours, 250 interventions have been carried out by the men of the regional civil protection in various areas of the island, and a first estimate of the damage has already been started - in collaboration with the municipalities.

In Cagliari, the mayor Paolo Truzzu has confirmed the closure of schools for tomorrow and is preparing the resolution proclaiming the state of natural disaster .

Didactic activities also suspended at the University of Cagliari: the stop of lectures, exams, exercises, seminars, laboratories, student collaborations is extended throughout the university. Also libraries, study rooms and related activities, discussion of degrees. Remote activities are also suspended - the University explains in a note - as they may not take place regularly due to potential power cuts.
