Twenty-three years ago the divers of Sinnai placed the statue of Christ on the seabed of Genn'e Mari, in the waters of Torre delle Stelle, to protect the people of the sea. Since then, every year, the appointment with Christ has been punctually renewed in a climate of strong, intense emotion. Like this morning in the presence of the Archbishop of Cagliari, Monsignor Giuseppe Baturi, who concelebrated the mass with the sub priest of "Solanas-Torre delle Stelle" Don Diego Zanda. A party that this year was enriched with another touching moment: the underwater celebration of the 40 years of marriage between two divers, Antonello Fulghesu and his wife Ignazia Scalas of the Sinnai diving club. For them, best wishes and applause from those present.

The celebration began with the celebration of mass, which was followed by the boat procession from the beach to the submerged statue where Don Zanda and the other divers lowered themselves to Christ for a prayer of thanks and where Antonello Fulghesu and his wife Ignazia Scalas "celebrated" their 40th year of marriage in their own way with tanks and fins. A party outside and at the bottom of the sea.

The Christ of the Divers, a statue in Sardinian trachyte, 2 and a half meters high and weighing 3 tons, was sculpted by the diving instructor Franco Congiu. It was placed 23 years ago on the seabed by the Sinnai Sub Club, to protect those who live in the sea. Present today with the mayor of Sinnai, Barbara Pusceddu, the divers of Sinnai, the carabinieri, the Guardia di Finanza, the Coast Guard, the Police and the Forestry.
