17 days after the unanimous approval by the municipal council of Arzachena, the PUL (Coastal Utilization Plan) was published in the Buras. It will begin to take effect in a year, as decided by the city assembly.

"A long process that started in 2014 which finally becomes law for the territory with the publication in the Official Bulletin", explain the mayor Roberto Ragnedda with Alessandro Malu, councilor for town planning and state property. «Among the key points of the Plan we have introduced the reduction in the number of beach concessions by 30 percent and their extension reduced by 40 percent. Whoever comes to Sardinia and to Arzachena must appreciate natural resources as much as possible, we want to offer efficient and high quality services, but the environment remains the main focus in which to invest to guarantee a sustainable tourist development of the destination, the only one that in the future it can increase the value of this territory for the community and visitors».

The PUL regulates the 88 kilometers of coastline and the 52 beaches of Arzachena, from Cannigione to Baja Sardinia, Porto Cervo and the Costa Smeralda.
